Our mission is to manage the Edmond Lacrosse Club girls and boys recreational lacrosse programs and to foster a love of the game by providing great lacrosse experiences for all the kids in the program regardless of skill.

Scoopers 1^st-3^rd grade Co-Ed

This developmental non-contact program will consist of 3-4 play days to teach basic skills with six game days to follow. At the completion of the play days, the scoopers coordinator and coaches will determine team rosters to ensure even distribution of skills. Siblings will be placed on the same team. Games will follow modified girls rules—no contact—no goalie—7 vs 7. While games are officiated, scores are not recorded during games and standings are not maintained. All games will be held at fields located adjacent to Cheyenne Middle School.

The Scoopers program promotes an environment that emphasizes fun while developing skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. We want our players to develop a life-long love of the game and continue playing in the older age groups of the Edmond Lacrosse Club.

Required equipment:

colored mouth piece

safety eye goggles ($30-$40)

soft lacrosse ball ($5)

Special Lacrosse stick (STXball/McWhipit) (ELC provides—please return at season end)

Game Schedule: Tuesday 6-7:15pm (April 6 – May 11)

Plan for each Game day:

Players practice with assigned coach/team 6-6:30pm

Break 6:30-6:40pm

Game 6:40-7:15pm (15 min halves/5 min half-time)

                                Practices begin January 4, 2010. Varsity and Junior Varsity teams will participate in Pre-Season tournament at Southlake TX January 30-31, 2010. First regular season game will be February 27 in Wichita KS.

The Edmond HS Boys Varsity & JV teams belong to the "Tornado Alley Lacrosse League."

All players (except 8^th graders) may play up one year as long as parents sign additional waivers. For example, a 4^th grader may choose to play in the 5/6^th grade group but a 3^rd grader cannot move up two years to the 5/6^th grade group.
