Dear All RBGC Coaches and Parents,
We are excited to announce a new resource for all coaches and parents of Redding Boys & Girls Club sports programs!
We have partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a nationally renowned youth coaching organization whose mission is to help coaches and parents create a positive, character-building youth sports environment for all our kids. Like the Boys & Girls Club, the PCA is a non-profit organization and is affiliated with Little League Baseball & Softball and US Lacrosse, with coaching programs in place across the country.
PCA Trainers will be conducting for the RBGC a series of coaching and parent workshops, which will include:
- Training our coaches to become Double-Goal Coaches, whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports;
- Developing Second-Goal Parents, who focus on helping their youth athletes learn those life lessons;
- Cultivating Triple-Impact Competitors, student athletes who strive to improve themselves, their teammates and their sport as a whole.
The first PCA session will be held:
Saturday, January 9, 2010
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Joel Barlow High School Auditorium
The second PCA session will be held:
Saturday, February 27, 2010
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Joel Barlow High School Auditorium
We are working toward making the PCA workshops a requirement for all our coaches, so we strongly encourage you to attend if you plan to coach an RBGC sports team in 2010.
OPEN TO: Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Field Hockey and Volleyball!!!!
