by Darien Lax posted 06/22/2009 Darien High School has become a major player in Connecticut lacrosse in a v ery short period of time. The boys program began as a club sport in 1982 and became a varsity sport in 1984. The team improved dramatically from a 2-11 first year record to winning the F.C.I.A.C. Championship in 1992, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. They won the coveteted C.I.A.C. State Championship 1997, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. They are led by coaches Jeff Brameier, Scott Bulkley, Mike Ryan, Bobby Lutz, Artie Waters, and Charlie Fish.
