| | | | | by Joe Blount posted 02/03/2010 Registration for the 2010 Flag Football season is now open!   | | | | by Joe Blount posted 02/03/2010 The County Board of Supervisors passed the comprehensive land use plan at last night's meeting by a vote of 7-1. Only Mike May from Occoquan voted against the plan. One of the amendments to the comprehensive plan reverses a long-standing planning commission rule which prevented the county from installing lights at county atletic fields. This is one less barrier to installing lights, but the battle is not won yet. There are currenly no funds appropriated for actually installing lights and the county staff estimates the cost to be around $250,000 per field. Several speakers at the meeting last night stressed the importance of public-private partnerships with the county and organizations like ours given the current budget challenges facing the county in these tough economic times.

The PWC Panther Track Club is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization and a club member of AAU Track & Field (Amateur Athletic Union), which is the national governing body of track and field. As a result of being a member of AAU, the PWCTC is a competitive level club. in the Prince William/Fredericksburg/Stafford and surrounding areas. The intent of our program is to provide proper training for the events of track & field, to engage in competition with other AAU/USATF clubs locally, regionally & nationally and to have fun. We strive to motivate youth between the ages of 6-18. This is the first official AAU Track Club established in the Prince William County.
