MN Swarm Host Girls Lacrosse Clinic featuring Notre Dame Coaches

The Minnesota Swarm Presents the Notre Dame Women's Lacrosse Coaching staff in an Exclusive Girls Lacrosse clinic to be held at the Xcel Energy Center on Saturday February 13, 2010 from noon to 2:00pm.  The clinic is for 6th to 12th graders  and limited to 60 participants and cost is $50.00 and includes a ticket to the 7:35 game that night between your Minnesota Swarm and the Washington Stealth.

2010 Girls Spring Middle School Lacrosse Registration Now Open

 The registration for Eden Prairie's Girls Spring Middle School team is now open!   Eden Prairie will field a team of 7/8th grade girls to compete in the Spring MSSLax league.  All players involved will participate on a team that is competitive, fun and willing to take the next step in their quest to get to be the best lacrosse player they can be!   The season begins in March and runs through May.   Practices will be announced once we have obtained them, expect 2-3x weekly in a variety of locations.   Cost is $210.00 for the season.   All players must be US Lacrosse members (www.uslacrosse.org)  If questions contact

Boys Winter Lacrosse Camps and Leagues

Registration is now open for the 2010 Eden Prairie Boys Winter Lacrosse Camps.  The camps will be held in the Eden Prairie Dome on Thursday nights beginning January 7th and running through March 25th.  Programs are available for 2nd graders to High School regardless of skill level.  The camps are open to all participants.

The camp enters it's 10th successful season. Youth programs are designed by NLL professional and Eden Prairie Varsity Head Coach - Ryan Ward and US Lacrosse Youth Coach of the Year - Scott Hugdahl.  The high school program will be designed by Homegrown Lacrosse and run by NLL Swarm player - Colin Achenbach and Aron Lipkin. Training levels are offered from beginner to advanced.  Come out and join the excitement!

Camps:

Beginner:  Two 5 week sessions for beginner boys wanting to learn how to play lacrosse. Thursdays 6 - 7.  Grades 2nd - 8th.

Grades 3-6:   Full 10 week camp or 5 week half camp available. Thursdays 6 - 7:30.  Full equipment is needed and US Lacrosse membership is required.

Grades 7-8:  Full 12 week camp or 6 week half camp available.  Thursdays 7:30 - 9.  Full equipment is needed and US Lacrosse membership is required.

Freshmen Academy:  Full 12 week camp available. Thursdays 7:30 - 9.  Full equipment is needed and US Lacrosse membership is required.

High School Camp:  Full 11 week camp available.  Thursdays 9 - 10:30.  Full equipment is needed and US Lacrosse membership is required. 

Freshmen Scrimmages:  Open to Freshmen and advanced 8th graders. Select Sunday night scrimmages against the best young players in the twin cities.  This program will have limited space.  Sundays from 9 - 10:30. 

House of Speed: Open to Eden Prairie residents.  Wednesdays 8 - 9:30.  Training is held at Bloomington Jefferson High School.


Go to www.eplacrosse.com and click "register on-line" on the left tool bar and proceed to the appropriate program for full descriptions.  

You will need your US Lacrosse number and expiration date handy to register.  You may pay directly on-line via PayPal if you wish.  We prefer checks to avoid the admin fee, but it's your choice.  Directions are provided on the confirmation email received after registration.

Girl's Winter Lacrosse Programming Announced

The EPLA Girls are pleased to offer the following offerings for the 2010 Winter season to be held at the EPHS Prairie Dome.   All activities begin Monday January 4, 2010.  The Youth Winter Lacrosse Camp under the direction of Judy Baxter & Beth Patterson will run 10-weeks camp.  A Middle School Girls Lacrosse League will run 8-weeks, a JV Girls Lacrosse League will run 9-weeks and a Varsity Girls High School league will run 12-weeks.  We are also offering an 8-week Girl's Goalie Clinic at the Prairie Dome.    All participants in the lacrosse leagues and Goalie clinic must be current members of US Lacrosse.  (www.uslacrosse.org)  All participants must become members of the EPLA in order to get email updates.

YLM State Champions - 7/8 Black

The Eagles 7/8 Black team reclaimed the State Championship on Sunday besting the pesky Northwest Wildcats in the final game of the 2009 YLM State Tournament.  Both  teams entered the final season tilt as the #1 seeds from their respective districts, with perfect 13 - 0 records.  The East/West battle unfolded as anticipated and it was a grinding chess match for the entire first half.  Thanks to some dandy goal tending, EP found themselves up by a slim one goal margin on the Wildcats.  Some halftime adjustments and an outstanding team effort allowed the Eagles to notch a four goal run to lead 6 - 2 by the end of the third quarter.  A gutsy defensive display and patient offensive strategy allowed the momentum to carry forward onto the fourth quarter.  As the first faint raindrops of the weekend began to fall, the game ended for the newly crowned gold medal winners.

Post Season Boys Varsity Awards Announced

The MSHSL rewarded several EP varsity players with end of year awards based on their play during the spring season.  We're proud of how the team played all season and honored to have several of our players recognized.   The recipients were:

Eagles Reclaim Lacrosse title over Blake 10-7

Eden Prairie 2009 State Girls Lacrosse Champions!
 Congratulations to the Eden Prairie Eagles Girls Lacrosse Team as they defeated Blake to win their Fifth State Title!   A come from behind win score of 10-7.   Caz-Marie Norwich (12) was named Player of the Year and made the Wells Fargo All tournament Team along with teammates Blake and Morgan Kist (11).  Our congratulations to the entire team and coaches Judy Baxter & Beth Patterson and the entire coaching staff on a spectacular season 17-1!
