Louisville 3/4 Bantam League Registration
Believe it or not, it’s that time again!! It’s time to start planning for our spring outdoor lacrosse season. We are excited to get the process underway and hope to have as successful a season as we did in 2014. Once again, I will be serving as the League Coordinator and representing the KLA. There are several important changes from last year that I will detail below. Our registration process for players has changed. To make life easier on everyone, the KLA has developed an online registration capability where individual players will be required to go to register. Also, we have made some constructive changes to the LOPs that will alleviate some of the on field issues we had last season. Finally, games will be moved from Thurman Hutchins and Hayes Kennedy to EP Tom Sawyer with first week games starting on 3/15.
Some important dates and details:
1.ONLINE PLAYER REGISTRATION – Starting 12/23 and ending 2/1/15, ALL players MUST register using the KLA’s online registration capability. To register, players need a current US Lacrosse number. If you don’t have one, you will be directed to the US Lacrosse website during registration to get number. The KLA website URL is http://www.kylax.org/ . This will take you to the home page. Once on the home page, look on the left hand side to find the Register Online tab and click. Once into the Online Registration System, click on the green “begin registration” button for the 2015 Bantam 3rd-4th Grade Registration. From there, follow the instructions. Please be sure to read the instructions carefully. This registration will satisfy all of the paperwork requirements for players and teams. PLAYERS MUST REGISTER BEFORE THE END OF REGISTRATION PERIOD TO BE ELIGIBLE.
2.LEAGUE OPERATING PROCEDURES – attached is a .pdf file with the 2015 LOPs. Section 11 details those LOPs specific to the Bantam League. The changes from 2014 are highlighted in yellow. All coaches are required to be familiar with the entire document and not just the section pertaining to the Bantam League. The changes affecting the Bantam League deal primarily with the assessment of penalties and man-down situations. This a significant departure from what we have done in the past. We have also detailed the process for the league tournament.
3.COACHES RULES MEETING – On February 7, the KLA will have a coaches meeting (time and location TBD). The purpose of the meeting , as in the past, is to review the LOPs and discuss any league operating issues that are brought up.
4.LEAGUE FEE – the league fee, per individual team, will remain $250. For schools/clubs with more than one team entered will pay the league fee for each team. The fees will be paid directly to the KLA and MUST be paid prior 3/1/2015. The fee covers a portion of KLAs direct league operating expenses.
5.GAME LOCATIONS & DATES – All games will be played at EP Tom Sawyer starting 3/15/15 and ending 5/17/15. Game schedules (dates and times) for each team will be finalized by 3/1/15 based on the number of teams registered. Game dates will be 3/15, 3/22, 4/12, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17.
6.TOURNAMENT – the location and date are still to be finalized, but will either be on 5/30/15 or 6/6/15. There will be a separate fee per team for the tournament and all teams are required to participate in the tournament. The format for the tournament is detailed in the LOPs.
7.COACHES CERTIFICATIONS – The KLA, per the LOPs, requires that at least one coach per team be Level 1 Certified for the 2015 season which requires attending a USL sanctioned coarse. The last opportunity to take this coarse is 1/31. Class details:
