Coaches Clinic Open for Registration - Kentucky

Dear US Lacrosse Member,

The primary component for growing lacrosse in Kentucky and elevating the level of play in the state is qualified coaches.  To that end, the Kentucky Lacrosse Association (KLA) is once again offering the US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program Clinics.

The men's and women's clinics will be held Saturday, November 15th (Level 1) and Sunday, November 16th (Level 2) at Mercy Academy, 5801 Fegenbush Ln., in Louisville, KY from 9:00 to 4:00 each day.  Lunch is provided.

Each of us can think of parent, friend or former player who would make a great coach; please encourage them to attend these outstanding and affordable clinics!

Per the 2014 KLA League Operating Policies, Section 5.3, by March 1, 2014 each team is required to have one member of the coaching staff complete the US Lacrosse on-line Level One Coaching Course. By March 1, 2015 each team is required to have one member of the coaching staff complete the on-site Level One Instructional Clinic and to become Level I Certified. It is recommended that, at a minimum, all members of coaching staffs take the US Lacrosse on-line Coaching Course and required that one coach for each team be USL Level 1 Certified.

Discounts Available

To further support our constituents in obtaining the highest levels of certification as possible, Kentucky members will receive a 50% discount on the Level I clinic and an early bird 50% discount on Level II clinic if registered before October 31st. You must be logged into your account when registering to receive the discounted price. Attached are a few documents to assist you in registering for the free online Level I course, in registering for the CEP instructional clinics and a guide to make the certification requirements and process clearer.

Information and registration for the clinics is strictly an online process at US Lacrosse’s website. Also, here are the links to the specific clinic available:

Men's Level 1, Louisville, Kentucky - 11/15/2014

Women's Level 1, Louisville, Kentucky - 11/15/2014

Men's Level 2, Louisville, Kentucky - 11/16/2014

Women's Level 2, Louisville, Kentucky - 11/16/2014

When registering for the Level 1 clinics, please add the PCA Training to your cart.  Additional sites/dates are available under the CEP section as well, including an additional Level I clinic in Mason, OH on November 22nd.  If our November 15th Level I clinic becomes sold out, we will look to add another clinic at the very end of January 2015.

About Our Clinics
Our past men’s and women’s clinics have been very successful both in the classroom and on the field. You can register for and attend both clinics prior to completing the online component of either clinic, although completing the online courses will enhance your clinic experience. The US Lacrosse Certified Trainers are of the highest caliber and bring a wealth of lacrosse experience to us.  You will hear more about our trainers as the clinics approach.

We ask our players to develop their physical and mental abilities in order to perform at a higher level.  As coaches, we should and need to do the same.  Attend these clinics yourself, get your assistants to attend, ask your parent leadership to attend... a more qualified/educated coaching and support base is truly the foundation for the continuing development of lacrosse in Kentucky.

Thanks to each of you for your commitment to the game of lacrosse and to the youth of Kentucky.
