Registration is now open for the 2020 Spring Travel Season.  Please visit DYSA website for more details and to register.  Coastal Youth Soccer requires that we finalize all rosters in early January.  Register NOW!

DUXBURY YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION

 

SPRING TRAVEL LEAGUE REGISTRATION

 

DYSA will be offering multiple levels of Spring Travel Soccer within the Coastal Youth Soccer Association (CYSL) for the U12 (Grade 5/6) age group.  PLEASE REGISTER NOW for this opportunity.  Tryouts are scheduled for October 26th at Lincoln Street Fields.  Girls 3:00-4:00PM, Boys 4:00-5:00PM. 

 

Who should try out?

‘A’ Team travel soccer is for committed players who are looking for more of challenge in order to continue to grow as a soccer player.  DYSA will continue to offer leveled teams in the Coastal Cup Division within CYSL.  Tryouts are not required for players interested only in the leveled teams.

 

What is the procedure for try outs?

Parents must register the child for the program using the DYSA registration website.  All registration information is listed under the Online Registration tab.  Players will be on the field doing drills, small side games etc so that our volunteers can evaluate the players with respect to their ability to compete.  During this time, no parents are allowed on the fields.

 

What do I bring for the try out?

No child will be able to step on the field without the following:

  • Soccer ball and shin guards (players should also bring water)
  • Check in at registration table to receive numbered jersey/penny for evaluation

 

When will my child be notified about what team he or she is going to be on?

DYSA is committed to providing soccer opportunities to all players.  CYSL requires rosters Jan 1st, 2020.  DYSA will finalize rosters mid-December.

DYSA Open Position - Registrar

Registrar Job Description

This is a NON-voting position of the Board.

The ideal candidate for this position would have an administrative background, is customer service and detail orientated, able to work well with current Board members, and willing to have a Criminal Record Check.  Knowledge of Excel and comfortable with data management.

The main responsibility of the Registrar is to oversee the registration of all coaches and players in accordance to Mass Youth Soccer League, Coastal Youth Soccer League and in-town programs and reports to the Executive committee of the Board.

Additional requirements:

  • Implements and maintains DYSA registration process to ensure accurate and timely registration for all programs
  • Assists player registration for the appropriate age level, responds to inquiries and assists in a timely manner
  • Ensures all volunteers undergo a Criminal Record Check and performs the required online safety courses while maintaining a current list of volunteers at all times
  • Provide all coaches with MYSA coaching credentials
  • Coordinates refunds for registrations with the Treasurer
  • Generates Club player reports for Coastal Youth Soccer
  • Assists Age Group Coordinators with compiling team rosters and filling out forms required for player passport cards
  • Supplies certified rosters to coaches
  • Coordinate age group wait lists with age group coordinators
  • Submit required documentation to MYSA for processing of certificates of insurance, personal injury and or liability claims.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Time Commitment:

Generally 4-6 hours per month.  5-10 hours per week during registration and pre-season periods.

Pay:

This will be a paid position at the rate of $5 per registration.

The season will begin this Saturday, September 14th at Coppens Field/Chandler School and last 7 weeks with a planned end date of November 2nd . There will be no session on Columbus Day Weekend.  A single session rained-out will not be rescheduled. The U6 boys/girls will play from 9:00-10:00 am on fields 1-8 (boys) and 9-14 (girls).

Session Dates: (7 Session Season - Saturdays 9/14 - 11/2)

Session 1 - Saturday September 14th

Session 2 - Saturday September 21st

Session 3 - Saturday September 28th

Session 4 - Saturday October 5th

***No Session Columbus Day Weekend***

Session 5 - Saturday October 19th

Session 6 - Saturday October 26th

Session 7 - Saturday November 2nd

 

 

A single rained-out session will not be rescheduled. Only in the event that 2 or more sessions are cancelled will a make-up session be scheduled. 


Session Times:

  • U6 Minisoccer (Girls and Boys): Saturdays 9:00am - 10:00am


Session Location:

  • All sessions played at Coppens Field Complex at Chandler School.

  • Each field is numbered (with a sign).

  • Your team number is your field number, you should be at your field a few minutes prior to your session.

Equipment:

  • All players are required to wear shin pads fully covered by socks.

  • Cleats are optional, although recommended.  Double knots, please!

  • Bring a full, reusable water bottle with player name on it.

  • For player safety, jewelry of any kind (including earrings) is prohibited.

  • For player safety, casts of any kind (plaster, fiberglass, etc.) are prohibited. 


Game Cancellations:

  • If a session must be canceled due to inclement weather, the league will post the cancellation on the DYSA website.

*** Important Notes For Parents ***

  • Do not "drop off" children.  Youngsters often look for parents, and there are frequent water breaks where players are instructed to go to parents.  Coaches cannot directly supervise all children at all times. Please enjoy watching your child for the entire hour!

  • Frisbees, Lacrosse, baseball, and football activities are not allowed within soccer field complex.  Please take advantage of the baseball field area to keep our young players safe from inadvertent injury due to non-soccer activity and equipment.

  • No Dogs –DYSA has a no dog policy, please leave your pet at home!

  • Please bring a full, reusable water bottle with player name on it. Help keep our fields clean!
