Welcome to CYC LAX's home on the web!
Pittsfield CYC Lacrosse Program is run by a steering committee of volunteers under the auspices of the Catholic Youth Center (CYC). With mutual goals in developing physical skills and coordination, as well as fostering leadership, self-esteem, cooperation, character, integrity and morality; we offer boys and girls, grades 2-8 in Central Berkshire County (and beyond) an opportunity to develop lacrosse fundamentals, good team dynamics, respect for the game, and sportsmanship.

Our program is affiliated with the Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse League (CVYLL), one of the best youth Lacrosse organizations and some of the most competitive Lacrosse played in all of New England.  CVYLL membership is comprised of over 180 teams throughout Western Massachusetts, Northern Connecticut, and Central Connecticut.  Our program plays within one of the Western Massachusetts division.

In addition to the CVYLL, for the Spring 2014 season, we will also participate in a newly formed Berkshire County League.

Its that time of year again!

Stop and Shop has graciously offered to allow us to sell raffle tickets and hold a bake sale this year for our fundraisers.

The date will be this Saturday April 12th. the times have been split according to teams.

Seniors 12-2 at Merrill Rd Stop and Shop

Juniors 10-12 at Merrill Rd Stop and Shop

Bantams (to be split by the two coaches) will be at the Dan Fox Dr Stop and Shop from 10-1

All coaches have been made aware of their time slots and will notify team members of the times they need to be there. Players will be asked to cover parts of their teams shifts and that will be left up to each teams coach to determine who and when.

Aside from selling our raffle tickets we will be having a Bake sale also. Please bring in baked goods, preferably individually wrapped for sale. This is anything from cookies and cupcakes to pies and breads! Last year there was so many goodies made it was amazing! Anything original is welcome also. Please just keep in mind allergies and notify us or label the baked goods if they have certain allergens in them.

We did really well for the program last year and having two different locations this year I am hoping to do even better!

Wear your smiles and bring your game face! We ask that all players wear their game jerseys or practice pinneys that day to represent our program well!

Any further questions please contact myself or your coaches.

Practices

Hi All,

Great news we are going to attempt to get outside this week!

We are hoping to get to Camp Russell this weekend and get those fields ready also.

I first want to apologize for any confusion about practices this week. The coaches informed me that they communicated with parents last week at practices as to schedule changes this week, but a few parents showed up last night at the Club having not gotten the information, and I do apologize. This is a hectic time as we are trying to get in as many practices as possible for all the teams and are very lucky to have the space given to us by Herberg and the Boys Club. Until we have our fields in shape to play on we will be filling in where ever possible to get our kids playing.

That said our Bantams are practicing tonight from 530-7 at the Boys Club. Our Juniors will be practicing outside on the fields at Herberg from 630-8, and our Seniors are off tonight.

There are more practice time being scheduled for each team as we are attempting to be outside. Please see your coaches for times and locations.

Our Bantam teams will be formed this week also, so you will know which team you are on and who your exact contact will be.

Please bear with us as we are doing our best to get the kids playing despite this extra long winter and wet conditions of all of the fields. It will all be worth it in the end!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
